You book the heaters you need, we deliver them to your venue, set them up in position, and collect them once your event is done. There's nothing for you to arrange beyond telling us how many heaters you'd like and where the event is. We handle the logistics so you can focus on the actual party.
What's included in the outdoor heater hire — is gas included?
The hire includes the heaters themselves. Gas cylinders are not automatically included and are charged separately — let us know when you book so we can quote you accurately for the cylinders you'll need. That way there are no surprises on the day.
How many gas heaters do I need for my event?
As a general guide, each mushroom-style patio heater effectively warms an area of roughly 3 to 4 metres in diameter directly around it. For a seated dinner or cocktail event, plan for one heater per cluster of 15 to 20 guests, depending on how spread out people are and how exposed the space is. Do you deliver and set up the gas heaters?
Yes. We deliver to your venue and position the heaters where you need them. Please have an idea of where you'd like each heater placed before we arrive — it helps us set up faster. Delivery is available across Johannesburg, Randburg, Sandton, Midrand, Pretoria and surrounds, with a delivery fee based on distance from our depot.
Can I collect the gas heaters myself instead of paying for delivery?
In theory, yes — but it's worth thinking through practically. Mushroom patio heaters are tall, bulky, and awkward to transport safely. You'll need a bakkie or large vehicle, and the heaters need to travel upright or be secured properly. Most people find delivery the easier option, but if you do want to self-collect, give us a call and we'll talk through what you'd need to manage the transport safely.

The heaters are operated with a simple knob or ignition — there's no complex operation involved. That said, if you'd prefer to have one of our staff on hand to manage the heaters, adjust settings, and keep an eye on things throughout the event, we do offer an operator as an add-on. Operators are not included in the standard hire and need to be booked separately. For most garden parties and corporate events, the host or a staff member can manage the heaters easily with a quick briefing from us at setup.
Are outdoor gas heaters safe to use at events?
Yes, when used correctly and in the right environment. A few important points: keep the heaters on a flat, stable surface where they can't be knocked over — this is the single biggest practical risk. Leave adequate clearance around each heater (at least a metre from any structure, fabric, or foliage). Keep children away from the heating element at the top of the heater, which gets very hot during use. Never use these heaters indoors, inside a tent, under a low marquee ceiling, or in any enclosed space — they are designed for open-air use only and produce carbon monoxide as a by-product of combustion.
